Big Bang’s Taeyang released the deluxe edition of his SOLAR album on July 1st. Upon its release, all 30,000 copies were sold out.

Although this kind of response was somewhat expected since there were over 50,000 requests, it was surprising to see many fans lining up outside music stores despite its weekday release. A similar response was seen online as well. Even though the online shop accepted requests in 2 rounds, the floods of fans caused the server to crash.

The  SOLAR album deluxe edition included: Taeyang’s SOLAR album, a 68 page photo book, a commemorative SOLAR t-shirt (that Taeyang designed himself), a 5×7 photo (randomly selected from four), and a YG Family card.

A YG Entertainment representative said,

The response was equivalent to ticket sales for Big Bang Concerts. Fans and vendors who were unable to attain copies of the deluxe edition flooded us with questions regarding the possibility of more copies to be released. However, it was initially a 30,000 copy limited edition release, so there are absolutely no plans for more releases.”

Taeyang has just wrapped up his first week of comeback promotions for his title track I Need A Girl. If you were unable to get a copy of the awesome deluxe edition package, the normal edition of the SOLAR album is set for release on July 9th.
